A consultancy of one, built around you.
Hagans Consulting, LLC is a one-person company in Ann Arbor, Michigan, formed in 2025. There is no middle management and no chain of contacts for your request to travel through: your needs, me, and a solution. I am the person you work with from the first message to the finished job.
The engagements are deliberately narrow. I take on the problems where an experienced generalist saves you the most: choosing and setting up the right tools, keeping what you already have secure and backed up, and reviewing what vendors propose before you sign.
Everything is run the way I run my own infrastructure: documented, monitored and recoverable. Clients keep the notes, the logins and the ownership of everything built for them.

Public repositories from the homelab and from security study. Client and website code stays private; these are the pieces I am happy for anyone to read.
- SurimaOS: a Linux distribution built from source (Linux From Scratch methodology), systemd, an RPM package stack and XFCE. Early development, shared for anyone curious.
- OpenMandriva bug testing and QA logs: reproduction steps, root causes and tested fixes for issues I have worked on for that community.
- Network traffic analysis with Suricata: deploying an intrusion detection system on a home network, generating attack traffic and reading the logs.
- Automated log hardening script (Bash): Ubuntu hardening against CIS benchmarks, written while studying for Security+.
